Traditionally, if you wanted to elevate heavy or drooping brows and attain younger-looking eyes, you had to undergo brow lift surgery. Fortunately, advances in cosmetic medicine and injectable products have made it possible to reposition the brows without surgery or the related expense and downtime.

The oculoplastic surgeons at Eyesthetica offer chemical brow lift, a non-surgical alternative to traditional brow lift that repositions the brows higher on the face during a single short office visit.

What Does a Chemical Brow Lift Accomplish?

The position on the eyebrows is primarily determined by two underlying muscles — one of which pulls the brows downward. A chemical brow lift is designed to relax the muscles that pull down on the eyebrows to help lift the brows and open up the eyes, creating a more youthful and energetic appearance.

Our team accomplishes this by carefully injecting small amounts of Botox in precise locations just below the brow. As the Botox relaxes the muscle, the brow subtly lifts, and the eyes open up. Sometimes dermal fillers are also used to make the area underneath the brow look plumper, which provides a slight lift.

A chemical brow lift is typically recommended if you have mild to moderate brow drooping and not a lot of excess skin that must be removed. If your brows sit very low on your face and you have a lot of excess saggy skin, you may be better suited to traditional brow lift surgery.

What to Expect During a Chemical Brow Lift

A chemical brow lift can be performed during a short in-office appointment. One of our doctors will examine your face and brow area and carefully plan out the injections. Your skin may be numbed with a topical cream to reduce any discomfort.

The doctor will inject small amounts of Botox, Xeomin, or Dysport into specific points underneath the brows. Depending on your case, they may also inject a small amount of filler in the area and gently massage it. The injections usually take half an hour or less to complete.

After treatment, your skin may be slightly red, swollen, or bruised. These side effects will disappear over the next few days. It can take 10 to 14 days to see the maximum effects of treatment. The results should last three to six months, depending on how your body metabolizes the injectables. When the effects wear off, repeat treatment is needed to restore the results.

Selecting Your Injector

To achieve great chemical brow lift results, you must work with an experienced injector that understands facial anatomy and how products like Botox behave. Eyesthetica’s oculoplastic surgeons have years of experience with these injectables and consistently deliver beautiful, natural-looking results.
