What is our approach to Upper Blepharoplasty?

Our doctors at Eyesthetica approach blepharoplasty in a way that prioritizes the health of your eyes and quality of your vision. They have found that a natural blink is crucial to maintaining a healthy ocular surface, which is the key to keeping your eyes comfortable and your vision pristine. With the Healthy Blink Blepharoplasty, the muscles that allows eyelids to blink are carefully preserved to maintain a strong, natural blink and promote better wound healing. In addition, skin and deeper fat is sculpted with minimal incisions to achieve youthful, natural results.

Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery of the Upper Face Book

The doctors at Eyesthetica wrote the book on eyelid surgery, and that’s not just a figure of speech. Our experienced surgeons share their tried-and-true techniques with other surgeons in the industry by recently authoring Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery of the Upper Face.

Blepharoplasty and Recovery

Blepharoplasty is an outpatient surgery that allows you to return home on the same day of the surgery. Surgery itself generally takes less than an hour. Bruising is usually noticeable for up to two weeks; however, most patients return to work within the first week.

Cold compresses are used for bruising and swelling. Discomfort is minimal and the eyes are not patched closed after surgery. Stitches are removed in 5-7 days. The incision is placed in the lid crease so as to be minimally visible and this scar will heal and fade over time. For the first few weeks, there may be temporary changes in the eyesight, sensitivity to light, and tearing, but normal, low impact activities can usually resume within a few days of surgery. Strenuous activity such as yoga, sit-ups or weight lifting can resume in two weeks.

You can expect final results to show within 2-3 months after surgery. In some cases, even better results can be obtained after surgery with the addition of injectables such as Botox and filler. Once healed, you can expect to have open, more awake looking eyes and many of our patients.

Testimonials

Patient Testimonial

Excellent, caring professionals. I needed minor surgery and they were the best! Zero problems with the surgery, genuinely concerned about your aftercare, very polite and courteou, nice Pasadena art in waiting room. I even walked out with chocolate! (Can’t guarantee you will get that, though).

Patient Testimonial

I was scheduled to see Dr. Samimi for the first time this week. I ended up having a virtual appointment and I got lots of good information from him. He gave me direction kn my medical problem and told me what he can do for me in the near future. I was pleased with all the help he provided me and look forward to seeing him for a follow up.
