Fillers in LA
The loss of youthful facial volume is a significant contributor to aging changes, and dermal fillers offer a minimally-invasive technique to address these changes and rejuvenate the face. Fillers are gels that are injected into the facial tissue to smooth deeper, static wrinkles, folds, and grooves. Fillers add volume back to the deflated face, which gives the face a smoother look and restores youthful contours to the skin.

What are the areas of the face that can be helped with fillers?
Deflation occurs from volume loss as collagen is decreased, fat becomes atrophied, and fluid turgor is decreased. The descent and loss of facial fat from the eyelids, cheeks, and midface causes sagging and deflated appearance, making eye bags and hollows more noticeable. Volume loss of the brows and upper eyelids can cause the eyes to appear sunken and the eyelids to appear sagging with more wrinkles. Loss of facial fat can also shadow the eyes and face and cause them to appear more tired. Drooping and deflation of the lower face leads to signs of facial aging such as prominent nasolabial folds (folds from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth), marionette lines (vertical lines below the mouth corners to the chin), and nasojugal grooves (groove from the inner corner of the eye to the cheek). The lips become thin and aged with elongation of the upper lip. Each of the problem areas can be helped with the use of fillers.
What kinds of fillers would be right for me?
While there are many fillers on the market, the products used at Eyesthetica are hand-selected on a case-by-case basis. We commonly use fillers such as Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane, and Volbella. These dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), which occurs naturally in human skin and cartilage. Natural HA provides volume and fullness to the skin, acts as a cushioning agent, and delivers nutrients. Juvederm and Restylane work well on the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and nasojugal grooves. We also use these fillers and others such as Volbella to augment thin lips. These fillers also work well on deep, static wrinkles that Botox alone may not fully soften.
How do fillers and BOTOX® affect wrinkles?
Botulinum toxins such as BOTOX® smooth the dynamic component of a wrinkle while fillers soften the static component of a wrinkle. The doctors personally perform the injections.
