CHIEF EYELID SURGEON
Dr. Michael Burnstine is the chief eyelid surgeon at Eyesthetica’s Valencia office. In addition to serving his patients, he trains other surgeons as a clinical professor at the University of Southern California’s (USC) Gayle and Edward Roski Eye Institute; he is the Director of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Fellowship at USC, one of only 52 individuals in the country granted this designation.
After earning his MD at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Burnstine completed an internship in Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital followed by an ophthalmology residency and chief residency at the W.K. Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan. He received his fellowship training in oculofacial surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary and Michael Reese Hospital. Dr. Burnstine began his career as the Director of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Doheny Eye Institute at USC in 1997, and co-founded Eyesthetica with Dr. Steven C. Dresner in 2004.
Dr. Burnstine is the editor of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery of the Upper Face: Eyelid Ptosis, Dermatochalasis, and Eyebrow Ptosis, and he lectures nationally and internationally on many topics related to oculofacial surgery.
Dr. Burnstine puts patients at ease with his extensive knowledge and friendly demeanor. He takes the time to understand each patient’s goals and unique anatomy before recommending a treatment approach. Outside the office, this world-class surgeon enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys.

Dr. Conger secured his neuroscience degree with the highest honors from Vanderbilt University before graduating with his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Returning home, he completed his ophthalmology surgical residency at the University of California, where he was selected among his peers to serve as chief resident in his final year.
While completing a highly coveted two-year fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery at Eyesthetica and the University of Southern California, he performed thousands of life-changing reconstructive surgeries for patients with cancer and trauma, as well as those with congenital and acquired diseases. The fellowship is also one of the few approved by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Conger is particularly passionate about improving the safety and efficacy of anesthesia techniques for office-based surgery, which inspired his published research in journals like the Journal of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has also presented his research at several national meetings.
When he isn’t giving his all to be the best eyelid surgeon in California, Dr. Conger enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his husband and their miniature dachshund.
