Scheduling Surgery

Should our doctors recommend surgery, our patient-friendly Surgical Coordinators will walk you step-by-step through this process.  We may be able to pick a surgery date at the time of consultation.

Aesthetic patients can schedule surgery at the time of the visit. Patients with HMO insurance plans will require an authorization before scheduling a surgery date.  PPO insurance plans generally require a pre-certification before scheduling a surgery date. Our Surgery Coordinators are committed to providing top-notch customer service.  They will quote any additional facility and anesthesia costs for any cosmetic portion of surgery not covered by insurance.

Patients that will have surgery at either an Outpatient Surgery Center or at the Hospital will need to see their primary care physician two weeks prior to their surgery for pre-operative clearance. Your primary care physician will:

• • Complete a history and physical
  • Order lab work
  • Order an EKG

Our Surgical Coordinators will review what time to report to the Surgery Center or Hospital and how long you should expect to be there. You will need someone to drive you home after your surgery.  You will be sent home with patient-specific instructions, medication prescriptions and specific care for incision sites or bandages.
