are you ready to look as
young as you feel?

Why choose an Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon?

Your vision is precious and your face is continuously on display. When picking a provider for your cosmetic eyelid and facial needs, why not choose a surgeon with the most specialized training? Oculofacial plastic surgery focuses on cosmetic and reconstructive aspects of the eyelids, lacrimal (tear) system, orbit (the bony cavity surrounding the eye), and adjacent face. The subspecialty requires years of experience and training dedicated to these very specific areas. Choosing a surgeon with the highest training and experience positions you to get the best, most natural looking surgical result while preserving your critical sense of sight.

Eysthetica Oculofacial Plastic Surgeons

Training

The specialty of oculofacial plastic surgery combines the meticulous microsurgical techniques of ophthalmology with the aesthetic understanding of plastic surgery. An oculofacial plastic surgeon spends the first 4 years after medical school mastering care of the delicate eye and surrounding tissues. After this specialized training, an oculofacial plastic surgeon with membership in the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) completes an additional 2 years of subspecialized reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery training. This is more specialized eyelid and upper face surgical training than any other type of cosmetic surgeon.

Combining knowledge of how to manage the delicate eye with surgical knowledge of the eyelids and face, an oculofacial plastic surgeon offers the very best experience to ensure the safest and most cosmetically appealing results after surgery. Although some cosmetic procedures can technically be performed by surgeons without specific training in specialty areas, this lack of subspecialized training increases the potential for both short and long-term complications in addition to undesirable aesthetic results. When you consult with an oculofacial plastic surgeon, you are consulting with a true eyelid expert. Choose a surgeon with extensive experience and proven results to help you achieve beautifully natural results that are tailored to your unique needs and aesthetic preferences. Why trust your eyes to anyone else?

What is the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS)?

The organizing body for oculofacial plastic surgery is the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). Only approximately 25 surgeons are trained in this field each year worldwide. These surgeons are meticulously trained in cosmetic, reconstructive eyelid and facial surgery during a rigorous 2-year fellowship training program.

Furthermore, ASOPRS members must pass a written and oral examination and present a scientific thesis of original research pertaining to plastic surgery on and around the eyes and face. Only after all of these steps have been completed is a surgeon asked to become a member of ASOPRS. Around the world, there are approximately 500 such members who have passed these rigid criteria and achieved certification. All of the Eyesthetica doctors have completed these requirements and all are full members of ASOPRS. In addition, our physicians are the “doctors who train the doctors”. Eyesthetica and the USC Roski Eye Institute proudly houses two of the 58 fellowship training programs in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery approved by ASOPRS.

Patient Testimonial

Excellent, caring professionals. I needed minor surgery and they were the best! Zero problems with the surgery, genuinely concerned about your aftercare, very polite and courteou, nice Pasadena art in waiting room. I even walked out with chocolate! (Can’t guarantee you will get that, though).

I was scheduled to see Dr. Samimi for the first time this week. I ended up having a virtual appointment and I got lots of good information from him. He gave me direction kn my medical problem and told me what he can do for me in the near future. I was pleased with all the help he provided me and look forward to seeing him for a follow up.
