Dr. Dresner

Steven C. Dresner, M.D.

Dr. Steven C. Dresner continues to impress with his skills in the field.  He developed these skills through numerous years of intensive training and on-field experience.  He completed his MD studies at the University of Michigan Medical School and also underwent training as an intern at the University of California San Francisco.

Dr. Dresner then travelled to New Orleans to complete his ophthalmology at Louisiana State University.  This experience has certainly proved invaluable to his career.  After the conclusion of his residency program, he trained in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at McGill University under Francois Codere. 

The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) recognized Dr. Dresner’s accomplishments by presenting him with the Senior Honor Award.  In addition to his education, he also published numerous articles that can be viewed on various journals and oculoplastic text books.

The development of the Medpor MCOI Implant and Medpor SST implant has also received contributions from Dr. Dresner. 

When he is not in the operating room, Dr. Dresner enjoys the free time he spends with his wife and children.

Dr. Burnstine

Michael A. Burnstine, M.D.

Dr. Michael A. Burnstine has earned his position as an outstanding doctor through his extensive educational background.  He received his MD from the Harvard Medical School and completed his internship in medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

After completing his ophthalmology residency, he served as the chief resident at the Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Burnstine followed up on his training by studying ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery under Allen Putterman at the University of Illinois Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary. 

As a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), Dr. Burnstine received various accolades.  These include the Merril Reeh pathology award, the Quicker thesis award, and the Honor Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

He contributed numerous work that was published in prestigious journals and text books.  Before his tenure at Eyesthetica, Dr. Burnstine was the director of ophthalmic plastic surgery at the Doheny Eye Institute at USC.

Serving an Associate Clinical Professor at USC, Dr. Burnstine continues to enjoy training fellow professionals in oculoplastic surgery.

Dr. Burnstine is happily married to his wife, Diana Lorden, and enjoys spending quality time with his two children. 

Dr. Samimi

Dr. David B. Samimi M.D.

A graduate of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Dr. David B. Samimi is a professional who strives to consistently augment his proficiency in the field.  After completing his internship at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center, he travelled to Miami to serve as a resident of ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. 

Dr. Samimi trained for two years in oculoplastic surgery from certified professionals Dr. Dresner, and Dr. Burnstine.  He also teaches oculofacial plastic surgery as a clinical professor at the prestigious USC Keck School of Medicine.  At Eyesthetica, he established himself as an associate preceptor for the fellowship in oculofacial and cosmetic surgery, which is a certified program that is sponsored by the American Society of Ophthalmic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS).

The various honors that Dr. Samimi has received include the Dean Mellinkoff Scholarship, the Bascom Palmer Oculoplastics Award, and the first place award at the Florida Society of Ophthalmology Research Symposium.  He provides regular lectures at international conferences and continues to have his work published in medical journals.

Dr. Samimi lives in Southern California where he enjoys outdoor exercise and travelling to foreign countries.  He is a fluent speaker in both Farsi and Spanish. 

Dr. Merritt
Dr. Helen A. Merritt completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She spent her transitional internship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Austin where she trained in both internal medicine and general surgery.
