Melanie Ho Erb, M.D.

Melanie Ho Erb, MD, is board certified in Ophthalmology and fellowship-trained and certified in subspecialty Oculofacial Plastic Surgery

Dr. Erb was born and raised California in the San Francisco/Bay Area town of Los Gatos. She moved to Southern California where she has lived since 1983. She earned her B.A. from U.C.L.A. She obtained her M.D. from University of California at Irvine, where she earned many honors and awards including the prestigious AOA award during her Junior Year, which is awarded to the top 4% of class. She then completed an internship in Surgery at UC Irvine to hone a fine surgical skill set in the subspecialties of Plastic Surgery, Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Surgical Oncology. She completed her Ophthalmology residency at UC Irvine, where she won awards for her outstanding eye research.

Dr Erb then went on to complete an additional two years of fellowship training in Oculoplastic Surgery at Eyesthetica, which is one of the few prestigious ASOPRS-approved Oculoplastic Surgery training programs in the country. She has performed thousands of oculoplastic procedures.

Dr Erb is on the clinical faculty of UC Irvine. She has taught and supervised ophthalmology residents at both UC Irvine and USC. Additionally, she trains oculoplastic fellows at Eyesthetica. She has given numerous national lectures and authored many book chapters and articles for scientific journals.

Dr. Erb enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, playing bridge, and playing the piano.
